AFL Recap: Dominic Smith Returns To First Base

The Salt River Rafters have been eliminated from playoff contention with a 6-1 loss to the Mesa Solar Sox in Arizona Fall League action last night. They play their final game today against the Eastern division champion Scottsdale Scorpions.

Mets first base prospect Dominic Smith played first base in his second game back from an oblique injury. He took a rare 0 for 4 night with two strikeouts. Dropping his AFL slash line down to .362/.483/.511 in 47 at bats.

Jeff McNeil made the start at third base and went 1 for 4 at the dish. He is now hitting .246/.328/.263 with four stolen bases in 57 at bats.

Kyle Regnault came in with two runners on in the 5th inning with one out and allowed one of them to score. He got two outs while allowing hit, walk, and striking out two. For the season he now has a 1.17 ERA and 0.78 WHIP in 7.2 innings of relief.
