Mesa Solar Sox (6-5) 5 – Scottsdale Scorpions (5-6) 2
Box Score
2B Luis Guillorme 1-4, CS, PO
While Guillorme picked up a hit in a fifth consecutive game, Guillorme would have a rough day after singling in his first at bat. He would kill a first inning rally getting picked off of second base and making the mortal sin of making the third out of an inning at third base. He would come up in two subsequent at-bats with runners in scoring position, but he would fail to deliver a hit. Still, as we know with Guillorme, it is all about the defense with him, and once again he didn’t fail to deliver:

C Tomas Nido 1-4, 2B, RBI, 2 K
Fresh off his winning the hitting challenge, Nido had a much better day at the plate delivering an RBI double in the second inning which would then tie the game. He has also improved from a throwing perspective now having thrown out a base stealer in consecutive games. Even with the struggles at the plate, Nido is second on the team in doubles, and seventh in the Arizona Fall League.
LF Kevin Kaczmarski 0-3
This was really a rare off night for Kaczmarski who is hitting .429/.484/.500 in seven games this season. Overall, he ranks eighth in hits, fifth in batting average, and fourth in OBP.
3B David Thompson 1-4, R, 3B, K
Thompson continued his hot hitting with a triple helping vault him to the tenth in total bases (18) and third in slugging percentage (.783) and OPS (1.223). Overall, Thompson has shown power we have only seen in glimpses from him in his minor league career. Overall on the season, he is hitting a robust .391/.440/.783 with four doubles, a triple, homer, and three RBI.
The Scorpions next game is a rematch against the Mesa Solar Sox at 2:35 P.M. EST
