Glendale Desert Dogs (8-9) 3 – Scottsdale Scorpions (8-8-1) 2
Box Score

SS Luis Guillorme 0-4, GIDP

Fresh off his All Star nomination, Guillorme had his toughest day at the plate.  In addition to going hitless, he hit into a double play with no outs in the top of the ninth stalling a potential game tying rally before it could get momentum.  Getting another look at shortstop, he did turn one double play.  Even with the hitless game, Guillorme still has good numbers hitting .333/.355/.400 in seven games.

LF Kevin Kaczmarski 1-4, K, CS

Kaczmarski continues to hit making this the 10th game out of 11 total he has played with a base hit.  It is a big reason why he is hitting .386/.438/.523.  Unfortunately, he did not have the tremendous impact as he has had throughout the Arizona Fall League season.  In the second, he was caught stealing for the first time in his three stolen base attempts thereby preventing the Scorpions from building a rally.  In the seventh, he was called out on strikes with a runner on second and just one out.  By his elevated standards, this was a tough game, but he is still having a terrific season.

3B David Thompson 0-3

After the All Star snub, Thompson had just his second hitless game this season.  In the seventh, he would fail to deliver a two out RBI with a runner in scoring position which would have brought the Scorpions within a run.  He still has impressive numbers on the season slashing .333/.368/.583.

C Tomas Nido 0-2, SF, RBI

Nido had his best day behind the plate during the Arizona Fall League.  For this first time in any of his starts, he did not allow a stolen base throwing out two base runners.  In the sixth inning, he would finally get the Scorpions on the board with a sacrifice fly scoring Angels prospect Troy Montgomery.
