Salt River Rafters (6-7) 8 – Scottsdale Scorpions (6-7) 2
Box Score

The Scottsdale Scorpions were never quite competitive in this game as the River Rafters would take the lead in the bottom of the first and never look back.  Five of the eight runs were allowed by San Francisco Giants prospect Tyler Beede.  With the blowout loss, the Jonathan Hurst led pitching staff now has the second worst ERA (4.80) in the league. However, the team has the second best WHIP (1.37), which is largely a function of the team allowing the fewest walks in the league.

While the Scorpions pitching staff might not be performing well as a whole, the Mets pitching prospects have performed quite well under the tutelage of the Columbia Fireflies pitching coach:

The Scorpions will look to get back on track today against the River Rafters.  Their game is scheduled for 8:35 PM EST.
