Baseball America released their updated Top 100 prospects. Six Mets sit in the top 100 as of the latest rankings:
No. 6 – C Francisco Álvarez
Álvarez ranks a top the list for the Mets at No. 6. He was assigned to Triple-A Syracuse to start the season and has batted .250/.368/.688 with a one double, two home runs, and four RBI. He has also has walked three times and scored four runs.
As previously reported on MMN, Álvarez will be with the Mets on Friday in case of being needed for the Mets’ home opener against the Marlins after Omar Narváez was diagnosed with a medium to high grade sprain of his left calf.
No. 15 – RHP Kodai Senga
Senga made his highly anticipated Major League debut with the Mets on April 2 against Miami. He threw 5 1/3 inning. In that outing he gave up just one earned run on five hits and walked three, but he struck out eight Marlins and walked away with a 1.69 ERA to start the season.
No. 31 – 3B Brett Baty
Baty looked impressive this spring, but he was assigned to Triple-A Syracuse to begin the season. So far this year, he has hit .400/.471/.867before leaving the Tuesdays’s game with right thumb inflammation albeit with no structural damage. He is curretnly day-to-day and is expected to return to the lineup soon.
No. 49 – C Kevin Parada
Parada was the 11th overall pick out of Georgia Tech in the 2022 draft. After posting an .880 OPS over 13 games between the FCL and St. Lucie Mets last season, he has beeen assigned to High-A Brooklyn to start the season.
No. 89 – CF Alex Ramirez
Ramirez split the 2022 season between St. Lucie and Brooklyn. Over 121 games, he hit .281/.346/.436 with 30 doubles, seven triples, 11 homers, and 71 RBI. He was successful in 21/37 stolen base attempts. He has been assigned to High-A Brooklyn to start the 2023 season.
No. 95 – SS Jett Williams
Williams was the 14th selection in the 2022 draft. Over 10 games for the FCL Mets, Williams hit .250/.366/.438 with a double, triple, homer, and six RBI. He was a perfect 6/6 in stolen base attempts. He will be assigned to Low-A St. Lucie to begin the season.
