Left-handed pitcher Andrew Barbosa has signed a minor league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers after spending the entire 2016 season in the New York Mets system.
The 29-year old Barbosa went 3-0 with a 1.51 ERA, 0.907 WHIP and 8.9 K/9 in 71.2 innings over four levels in the Mets system.
Barbosa started the season off with a solid five inning start in Triple-A Las Vegas before making six starts in Double-A Binghamton. A lat injury knocked him out of action for two months.
In July and August he made eight appearances between the GCL Mets and the St. Lucie Mets. His final two starts of the season came with St. Lucie and Binghamton, in which he combined to pitch 15 innings of one-hit ball with 16 strikeouts.
Well hey it worked for captain Kirk Over there.

If he really developed at age 29 he would be blocked behind some great starters so good move for him.

I’m a big fan of Barbosa, reminds me a ton of Chris Young. Obviously pretty old but I think he can be a 7th/8th starter/swingman type.
