Mets minor league left-handed pitcher Andrew Barbosa made his second start of the Puerto Rican League playoffs last night picking up his second straight win. He threw six scoreless innings last night for the Indios de Mayaguez in their 3-0 victory moving them to 5-3 in the 18-game round robin postseason. He allowed just two hits, HBP, and a walk while striking out five batters. One of the two hits he gave up was a double to Javier Baez.
In his first playoff start for the Indios, Barbosa pitched five one-hit scoreless innings issuing two walk and striking out three. He made two starts in the regular season going 6.1 innings allowing one run on five hits and four walks while striking out seven. Here is my write up about him earlier this offseason after signing a minor league deal with the Mets.
T.J. Rivera went 1 for 3 with a walk and run cored for the Indios while playing third base and batting cleanup. He is now hitting .321 in seven playoff games.
The Tigres de Aragua lost last night in their first game of the semifinals 8-1 to the Tiburones de La Guaira. Wuilmer Becerra was on the bench for the third time in four games despite hitting .294 during the playoffs and .405/.416/.500 during the Venezuelan Winter League regular season.

How old is Barbosa? And is he considered a serious prospect?
Older (recently turned 28) but has only played four years in the minors because he was drafted at 24. Not really a prospect, more of depth but he is certainly an interesting arm that has pitched fairly well where ever he has been.
Interesting thanks.
