Arizona Fall League Recap 11/3: Mickey Jannis Pitches Gem

The Salt River Rafters won their 5th straight game with a 6-2 victory over the Glendale Desert Dogs yesterday in Arizona Fall League action. Mets minor league knuckleballer Mickey Jannis twirled a good game allowing one run on four hits in 6 innings. He struck out two and walked none while picking up his first win in the fall.

Overall Jannis has made four starts spanning 19 innings with a 2.37 ERA and 1.21 WHIP for the Rafters. He started this year pitching for the Long Island Ducks before the Mets signed him in July. He mad 11 appearances (10 starts) combined between the St. Lucie and Binghamton Mets going 2-3 with 3.55 ERA and 1.354 WHIP.

Beck Wheeler continued his strong fall league pitching a scoreless 7th inning allowing one hit. He now has a 1.50 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Dominic Smith, Jeff McNeil and L.J. Mazzilli all had the day off for the Rafters.
