Dominican Winter League
- Ronny Mauricio SS: 0-for-4, 2 K, .286/.298/.446
- Robinson Cano 2B: 1-for-4, RBI, K, .286/.318/.286
Licey won Tuesday’s game 3-2, but Mauricio did not contribute much, striking out twice in four hitless at bats. He was part of turning two double plays and did not make an error, but was removed for defense in the top of the eighth to preserve the one-run lead. He has cooled off a bit over the last week and his current winter league OPS has fallen in line with his OPS from the regular season at .745.
Cano’s Estrellas lost 6-3, but Cano was responsible for driving in one of the team’s free runs. The RBI, shown in the video below, was a softly hit ground ball up the middle which snuck past the defenders’ gloves.

Arizona Fall League
- Brett Baty 3B: 1-for-4, 3 RBI, .301/.385/.422
- Wilmer Reyes 2B: 1-for-4, K, .220/.333/.288
Baty drove in the majority of the Rafters’ runs in their 5-0 victory on Tuesday afternoon. Following a home run by the Rafters’ leadoff hitter in the first, Baty quickly added on to the lead with a RBI groundout to second base. The offenses on both side were quiet until Baty came up again in the seventh inning with the bases loaded. On the fourth pitch of the at bat, Baty drove a curveball into left field for a two-run single, which increased the lead to five runs.
Despite being less involved in the run-scoring action, Reyes finished the game with the same 1-for-4 line as Baty as he singled on the first pitch of his second inning at bat.
- RHP Connor Grey (1-2, 3.00 ERA) 3.0 IP, 2 H, 4 K
Grey continued his strong showing in the Arizona Fall League as he pitched three scoreless innings in relief. Grey has been one of the best pitchers on the Rafters this fall: he leads the team in innings pitched, is second in strikeouts, second in WHIP (min. 10 IP), and fourth in ERA (min. 10). With the season entering its final week, Grey has impressed, especially for a pitcher who pitching in an independent league as recently as June.
