Last night the Bravos de Margarita said in their game notes that Wilmer Flores is having his left ankle evaluated after possibly re-injuring it when he was running to first base on Friday night. He was hit on the ankle by a pitch last week in Venezuelan Winter League action.
Dominican League
Aguilas Cibaenas
Juan Lagares – 1 for 3 with walk, run scored, and maybe most importantly he had an outfield assist. Former Met Vic Black was on the mound and got a fly ball out to Lagares who then threw former Met farmhand Matt Clark out at third as he tried to tag up. Lagares now is now 4 for 26 with four walks in seven games.
Vic Black has now thrown 1.2 scoreless innings since being added to the roster his week.
Venezuelan League

Wuilmer Becerra – 3 for 5 with run scored (6 for 13 in four games).
Puerto Rican League
Criollos de Caguas
Johnny Monell – 1 for 4, RBI, stolen base (.321/.424/.487 with 9 RBI, 4 stolen bases).
Indios de Mayaguez
T.J. Rivera – 1 for 4, walk, run scored (.341/.408/.455 in 44 at bats).
Michael I know the chances are slim that Becerra are slim. But if he is taken I will have heartburn until or if he is returned. Hoping he doesn’t get picked would hare to see him loose time in the minors. Was hoping there is a chance he might be ready when Grandersons contract was up.
I think most of us will feel that same heartburn. Nevertheless, it’s such a huge risk for a team to actually take him and keep him all year – that I’m hoping he won’t be selected, and we’ll all be ok.
Hoping the same would hate to see him loose time in the minors. Not sure what it is guess you could call it a strong feeling. Just feel this kid will be an above average RF for us.
