Binghamton Mets Outfielder Jared King Retires

Double-A Binghamton outfielder Jared King announced on his own Facebook page that he is retires from pro ball.

King said ” this was not easy, but my mind is at peace with the decision”. He thanked all of the friends and family that supported him during his career.

The 5th round pick by the Mets in the 2013 draft battled injuries this season being put on the disabled list twice this season.

In 1023 minor league at bats King hit .239/.315/.331 with nine homeruns and 126 RBIs. He played the last two seasons with the Binghamton Mets in which he batted .210/.264/.283 in 49 games. He was known for his ability to play all three outfield spots well defensively.

We from MMN want to wish Jared King the best with everything he is going to do next.
