Binghamton Mets reliever Chase Huchingson was suspended for 50 games today, without pay, after his second violation of “a drug of abuse.” This is according to a tweet from Adam Rubin.
This news comes on the heels of two scoreless innings from Huchingson yesterday — and in fact, a spectacular season in relief for Binghamton overall. He has appeared in 45 games for Double-A Binghamton, while posting a 1.61 ERA and a 29/68 BB:K ratio. The young left-hander had finished 15 games for Binghamton in 2013, earning one save, and his 45 appearances have spanned 67.0 innings.
I guess we just keep piling on the saddening news, huh…
