The Binghamton Rumble Ponies have officially announced their coaching staff for the 2021 season. The Mets Double-A affiliate will be led by manager Lorenzo Bundy, who will be entering his first official season as the club’s manager. Bundy was scheduled to be the new manager for the 2020 season before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bundy, 61, has over three decades of professional baseball experience, which includes major league coaching positions with the Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Miami Marlins.

Jonathan Hurst will be Bundy’s pitching coach, who was already on Binghamton’s coaching staff in 2019 and is a 14-year veteran in the Mets organization.

Bruce Fields, a former major leaguer with the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners, will be the hitting coach after serving as the Indians’ hitting coach in 2011 and a hitting coordinator within the Tigers’ farm system.

Bundy’s right-hand man on the bench will be Joe Raccuia, who is entering his first season in professional baseball after serving as the head baseball coach at Marist (2004-2005) and Radford (2008-2019). Raccuia has worked with the Mets since December of 2019 in player development.

Dylan Cintula and Kiyoshi Tada will be the Rumble Ponies’ Performance Coach and trainer, respectively. Cintula has recently worked with the Los Angeles Angels organization for three seasons after working for the University of Toledo, University of Michigan, and Eastern Michigan football programs.

Tada has eleven years of professional baseball experience and was on Binghamton’s staff in 2019 after spending time with the Mets High-A and Low-A clubs.

The Rumble Ponies kick off their season on May 4 against the Akron Rubberducks (Indians Double-A).
