Bradley Marquez, a 16th round selection for the New York Mets in the 2011 MLB draft, is leaving the Kingsport Mets in order to head back and play football at Texas Tech this fall. This is something Marquez has been able to do for a couple years now, as New York is allowing him to play for the Red Raiders.
Thank u Kingsport for a good year in baseball keep going out and supporting the team only 2 games back from 1st place!!

Also thank you @Kingsport_Mets for the send off I ll b keeping up with u guys. Texas Tech here I come #WreckEm#NoDaysOff

Seemed to me this youngster had a pretty successful year at Kingsport his numbers aren’t great but he started slow and seemed to pick up as the season went on. I am looking forward o seeing the year he can concentrate on baseball without the football distraction.
Marquez seems like he has talent, but at this rate he will never be on a full season team. Seems like a waste of money to me.
Not really a waste he’s still tremendously young just 20yrs old….while he isnt getting much in game action he is there for instructional league and if/when he does decide to give baseball his full attention he will have a leg up since he’ll already been receiving training for 3years in the organization.
Its not like we drafted him high or broke the bank for him
