Mets outfield prospect Brandon Nimmo was named to Baseball America’s Minor League All Star Second Team. Entering the season, he was Baseball America’s fifth ranked Mets prospect.

In 97 games, the 23-year old center fielder hit .352/.423/.541 with 25 doubles, eight triples, 11 homers, and 61 RBI. Nimmo lost the batting title to T.J. Rivera on the final day of the season, but he still had the highest OBP in the Pacific Coast League.

It was a tremendous step forward for the Mets 2011 first round draft pick who has earned himself a promotion back to the Majors on Tuesday.
