According to Jeremiah Johnke, a writer for a Wyosports, the Mets have promoted outfielder Brandon Nimmo from the Las Vegas 51s.

Nimmo was hitting .328/.409/.508 with 16 doubles, seven triples, five homers and 37 RBI for the Mets AAA affiliate. In the corresponding move the Mets are demoting the slumping Michael Conforto to AAA where he has never played a game.

Nimmo, 23, was the first pick that current GM Sandy Alderson ever made when he selected Brandon out of Wyoming with the 13th overall pick in 2011. He has been on fire in June, hitting .388/.459/.612 in 65 at bats with 11 walks compared to 14 strikeouts.

Nimmo has played a majority of his time in 2016 in center field (46 games) with eight in left field and five in right field. But he has struggled in center this year so I expect the Mets will use him mainly in left.
