Brandon Nimmo has been on the Injured List since May 22 with a bulging disc in his neck. After having a brief five game rehab appearance in June was aborted, Nimmo appeared in his first baseball game since June 12.

Nimmo was the DH for the St. Lucie Mets tonight batting second in the lineup. In typical Nimmo fashion, he would draw a walk in his first plate appearance. Overall, Nimmo was 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.

More important than the walk or the hit was the fact Nimmo was able to serve as the DH for the entire game. The next step in this process is seeing how he responds to playing his first baseball game in over two months and just how quickly he can get back into the lineup.

From a St. Lucie perspective, they lost the game to the Charlotte StoneCrabs 7-0. With the loss, they fall to 67-55 overall and 35-21 in the second half putting them 4.5 games behind Charlotte for first in the FSL South.
