Prior to Thursday’s game against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, the Mets promoted outfielder Braxton Lee and infielder Ruben Tejada to Triple-A Syracuse from Double-A Binghamton. Roster spots had opened up with the recall of Luis Guillorme and Ryan O’Rourke to the major leagues.

Lee was selected by the Mets in the minor league portion of this past offseason’s Rule 5 Draft. The 25-year-old, who played in eight games with the Miami Marlins in 2018, was tied for ninth in the Eastern League in hitting (.302) at the time of his promotion. Not known for power, the fifth-year pro hit just his fifth home run on April 18.

Tejada’s promotion came after just two games with the Rumble Ponies. In nine at-bats, the 29-year-old recorded five hits, including two doubles, and an RBI. Tejada rejoined the organization during the last week of Spring Training on a minor league contract and had been playing in exhibition games in Port St. Lucie since then.
