Following an Opening Day win led by Mets prospects, the Salt River Rafters lost their second game of the AFL season on Thursday 1-0.

Brett Baty was the only Mets prospect who played, but he turned in another fantastic offensive performance out of the second spot in the starting lineup.

After getting on base in all five of his plate appearances in the Rafters first game on Wednesday, he got on base in his first three plate appearances on Thursday to start the his AFL season a remarkable 5-for-5 with a double, two walks, two runs scored, and a hit by pitch.

In his first at-bat on Thursday, he hit a sharp groundball through the whole between shortstop and third base off of Rangers prospect Owen White.

Baty then walked his next time up with two out in the third inning, also against White.

He drilled a double into the gap in left-center his third time up to lead off the top of the sixth, this time against 26-year-old Royals minor leaguer Stephen Woods.

His last two times up, he flew out against Reds righty Eddy Demurias and grounded out against Rangers righty Eudrys Manon.

Defensively at third base, he handled three groundouts and a pop-up at third base without making any errors.

Mets pitching prospect Connor Grey gets that start on Friday for the Rafters.
