Outfielder Chris Young played in an extended spring training game on Thursday and had two singles, two walks and a sacrifice fly in five innings.

On Friday he appeared in another extended spring training game in Port St. Lucie which went very well.

The Mets announced that Young is now headed for a rehab assignment in Las Vegas as he continues his return from the DL with no setbacks.

He is eligible to be activated from the disabled list next Friday.

With Juan Lagares currently the team’s top run producer, and Eric Young now starting to get hot, it’s going to be fun watching how Terry Collins handles the return of Chris Young.
