The Scottsdale Scorpions lost 5-4 on Thursday to the Peoria Javelinas to snap their three-game winning streak. They fall to an Arizona Fall League worst 11-15 including just 3-11 on the road.

Mets relief prospect Corey Taylor had himself a good outing with 1.2 scoreless innings in which he allowed two hits and struck out three. He was hitting 96 MPH on the gun with his fastball and 86-88 with his slider.

Kyle Glaser of Baseball America was at the game and had this to say about Taylor:

Taylor, 23, now has a 2.25 ERA in 12 AFL innings. In that span he has allowed three earned runs on 12 hits, 13 strikeouts and only one walk. The strikeouts are encouraging for Taylor who fanned just 43 batters in 53 innings during the regular season for the St. Lucie Mets.

Tim Tebow started in left field and went 1 for 3 with a double, run scored, walk and two strikeouts. Tebow is now 8 for 51 with five walks and 15 strikeouts in 15 games.

Mets outfield prospect Champ Stuart went 1 for 3 with a walk and two strikeouts. He has slowed down after a torrid start, going 2 for 12 with eight strikeouts. Overall, he’s hitting .327/.362/.455 with three walks and 19 strikeouts in 55 at-bats.
