According to Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com, Oscar Luis Colas will be petitioning for MLB Free Agency. The 21 year-old, who has been dubbed the Cuban Shohei Ohtani would become eligible starting on January 15, 2021.

Colas, who has split time between the Cuban National Series and the Japan Western League, hit .282/.343/.483 with 28  homers over 730 at-bats as a professional.

Colas has recorded innings at first base, right field, and on the bump. Colas has only recorded 3.1 innings in the mound as a professional. He issued three walks, only struck out two, and posted a 2.70 ERA.

Colas would likely receive interest from most every team, and be one of the biggest names to hit the market as an international defect in years, likely sitting in the same level as Victor Victor Mesa.
