Jose Ramos homered in a Syracuse loss, but with the Rochester win Syracuse was eliminated from the playoffs prior to the completion of their game. Syracuse made a late season push for a playoff berth but it was too little, too late.
Triple-A
Syracuse Mets (81-68) 4 vs. Lehigh Valley IronPigs (68-81) 5
- LF Jose Ramos – 2-for-4, 2 R, HR (4), 2 RBI (17), 1 K (.866 OPS)
- CF D’Andre Smith – 0-for-5, 1 RBI (19), SB (11), 1 BB (.894 OPS)
- 1B Billy Amick –1-for-5, 2B, 1 R, 2 K (.769 OPS)
- 3B Jefferson Rojas – 0-for-6, 2 K (1.037 OPS)
Syracuse had seven hits and five walks, but went 4-for-15 with runners in scoring position. D’Andre Smith closed the season out strong, seemingly putting all of his offensive game together with plus defense in the outfield. Rojas had a rare down day since he came to Triple-A, striking out twice in six at-bats.
- RHP Dylan Ross (6.34 ERA) 2 IP, 1 H, 2 K
- RHP Brian Metoyer (4.32 ERA) 1 1/3 IP, 1 H, 2 R (1 ER), 1 BB, 1 K
Ross had a rough start to the season, but spent the months of July, August, and September posting an ERA below four. Metoyer had a forgettable September, walking eight batters in seven innings and allowed six runs while only allowing a .167 batting average. While Metoyer put himself on the Mets’ radar as a potential call-up, he seemed to have tired in September, throwing the most innings of his career this season.
