De Aza With Two Hits, Becerra Snaps Hit Streak

The Toros del Este lost last night to the Estrellas de Oriente 8-4 as they fall to 2-4 in their first six games of the Dominican League 18-game round robin first round of the playoffs. Alejandro De Aza played right field again last night for the Toros going 2 for 4 with a double and run scored. He is now 5 for 16 with two walks in five games. Dario Alvarez pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts for the Toros.

Wuilmer Becerra saw his eight game hitting streak snap in an 0 for 3 night as the Tigres de Aragua won to tie the best-of-7 first round playoffs series at one win a piece. Becerra is 2 for 7 in the playoffs after batting .405/.416/.500 in the Venezuelan Winter League regular season.

Mets minor league reliever Chase Huchingson pitched 1.2 perfect innings with a strikeout for the Tigres del Licey in their 2-1 win moving them to 5-1 in the Dominican postseason. He now has a 2.08 ERA in the playoffs.

T.J. Rivera continued his strong winter going 1 for 3 with a walk last night as the Indios de Mayaguez lost 1-0 and fell to 0-2 in the Puerto Rican League round robin playoffs. Rivera was 3 for 5 in game one of the postseason while playing third base in both games.
