Dominic Smith Returns To AFL Action

The Salt River Rafters game just started in the Arizona Fall League and Mets first base prospect Dominic Smith is back in the lineup batting third as the designated hitter. He has been out since November 2nd with what John Ricco called a strained oblique.

Smith was batting .385/.519/.564 with four doubles, homerun, five RBI, eight runs, and twelve walks in 39 bats over 12 games before his injury. The Florida State League MVP us currently ranked as the Mets #5 according to MLB Pipeline.

During the national broadcast of the Rafters game on Wednesday, Smith did an in-game interview saying he was hoping to return before the end of the season. The Rafters have just two games left after today.
