Yesterday the Mets released the rosters for both of their two Dominican Summer League Teams. The DSL  teams have provided the details for the tentative roster and we will be presenting it here with what we know. Here are some highlights from each roster, plus links to the rosters:

DSL Mets 1

RHP Jhoander Chourio – Has an easily repeatable delivery from the right side with a three-pitch mix, including a fastball that reaches 92, as well as a spike curve in the mid 70’s and a changeup.

Nelmerson Angela, LHP  Nice lefty from Curacao with a high-80’s fastball.

Edgardo Fermin, SS A shortstop with the ability put the barrel to the ball and a quick swing. With a bit more projection he can hit some gap power for a bit over-the-fence power. He isn’t very fast, and doesn’t have much range, or even a great arm, but has very smooth hands and makes all the plays.

Gregory Guerrero, SS Signed for 1.5 million on July 2nd of last year out of the Guerrero Academy. Guerrero is an above-average hitter with plus bat speed and above-average power. However, he has below average speed, but a plus arm and a smooth glove. Nephew of former All-Star Vladimir Guerrero.

Hansel Moreno, SS A great athlete with plus speed, very smooth hands, and a plus arm. Defense more advanced than the bat. Has a projectable bat that could improve with some strength.

Tulio Garcia, OF Good bat speed from a clean left-handed swing with some pop and some understanding of the strike zone.

DSL Mets 2

Daniel Guzman, RHP Pitches in the low 80’s and tops out at high-80’s, while having an average curve and changeup.

Yoel Romero, SS Signed out of Venezuela for 300k. Defensive-oriented shortstop with good footwork and hands with average arm with a short release. Below-average runner with gap power.

Shervyen Newton, SS Signed out of the Netherlands with some gap power and good speed.

Andres Gimenez, SS Signed out of Venezuela for 1.2 million dollars, with swing geared towards the gaps from the left hand side. He’s a plus runner with a smooth glove and above-average arm.

Raul Beracierta, OF A player the Mets have been after lately with some real raw power.

Edinson Valdez, OF Signed out of the Guerrero Academy with some plus power, a plus arm, and some above average speed. Kid with great makeup from Don Gregorio, Dominican Republic.

The season starts this morning at 10:30 am, you can find the box scores on MILB.com and on recaps here on MetsMinors.net.
