The Mets made two significant moves to the minor league system on Monday, promoting Quinn Brodey to Double-A Binghamton and assigned Ervin Santana to Single-A St. Lucie. They also made a few other minor moves.

Ervin Santana, 34, was transferred to St. Lucie where he will make his first start out of extended spring training. Santana was signed last month to a minor league contract. Santana pitched to a 0-2 record and a 9.45 ERA in three starts this season.

Quinn Brodey was promoted from St. Lucie to Binghamton. Brodey was hitting .285./.335/.435 with five homeruns, 38 RBIs, and eight stolen bases. Brodey was the Mets Minor League Player Of The Month in April.

Raphael Gladu was signed and assigned to St. Lucie. Gladu, 23, had been playing in the Canadian-American Baseball Association, and was hitting .291/.350/.436 in 14 games.

The Rumble Ponies placed 25-year-old catcher Dustin Houle on the IL as of 6/2. Houle has only appeared in two games this season.

Alfredo Escalera was transferred from St. Lucie to Brooklyn. Escalera was slashing .200/.250/.200 in 16 at-bats in St. Lucie.
