Garrison Bryant (Jacob Resnick/Mets Minors)

The 2019 New York-Penn League All-Star rosters have been announced, and there are five Brooklyn Cyclones named to the “Blue Team.” Those five players are RHP Garrison Bryant, RHP Matt Cleveland, RHP Mitch Ragan, 2B Wilmer Reyes, and DH Joe Genord. This is the first professional All-Star nomination for all five players.

Bryant has made nine starts and two relief appearances for Brooklyn. Overall, he is 4-1 with a 2.59 ERA, 0.864 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9, and an 8.4 K/9. He is tied for seventh in the league for wins, second in ERA, fifth in innings (59.0), and he leads the league in WHIP.

Cleveland has made 11 starts going 3-2 with a 3.46 ERA, 1.171 WHIP, 3.8 BB/9, and a 4.9 K/9. He is third in the league in games started, 11th in ERA, eighth in innings (54.2).

Ragan has made three starts and eight relief appearances for Brooklyn. Overall, he is 1-2 with a 2.70 ERA, 0.788 WHIP, 0.7 BB/9, and a 7.4 K/9. So far, Ragan holds a remarkable 11.00 K/BB ratio.

Reyes has played 45 games for Brooklyn hitting .333/.356/.450 with six doubles, a triple, four homers, and 23 RBI. On the basepaths, he has two stolen bases in seven attempts. Reyes is fifth in the league in hits, eighth in total bases (77), fourth in batting average,  ninth in slugging, and 10th in OPS.

Genord has played 50 games for Brooklyn hitting .201/.272/.402 with 10 doubles, eight homers, and 32 RBI. On the bases, he is 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts. He is currently fourth in the league in homers and sixth in RBI. Genord was previously the New York-Penn League Player of the Week for the week ending July 7, 2019.

The New York-Penn League All-Star Game will be hosted by the Staten Island Yankees on Wednesday, August 21 at 7:00 P.M. Pre-game festivities will include an NYPD and FDNY Home Run Derby as well as an autograph session with the players.
