Garrison Bryant (Jacob Resnick/Mets Minors)

Arizona Fall League

The Salt River Rafters defeated the Tucson Saguaros by a score of 12-5 yesterday. Carlos Cortes was the only offensive prospect in action for the Mets.

Cortes hit a single into right field in the bottom of the third inning to score Michael Toglia and move Ryan Vilade to second base, allowing the Rafters to take a 4-2 lead. Cortes did not have any fielding mistakes in this game.

New York Yankees prospect Elijah Dunham got the better of the Mets pitching prospects. He hit a lead-off homer off Bryant in the bottom of the first. Later in the game, he would hit a double off Metoyer to help drive in a run.

Bryant was in and out of trouble in his two innings. However, he was able to limit the damage to just one run. Both Metoyer and Holderman came on in relief. As noted, Metoyer made a mistake against Dunham, which led to his allowing one run in his two innings pitched. Holderman allowed a two-run HR to Justin Foscue of the Texas Rangers organization.

Dominican Summer League

Mauricio is now has a .313 batting average after his strong performance against Aguilas Cibaenas.

The Estrellas Orientales lost to the Gigantes del Cibao by a score of 5-1. Robinson Canó did not have a hit in this game.
