The Scottsdale Scorpions were trounced by the Mesa Solar Sox by the score of 12-2. Behind that beat down were a few solid performances by some of the Mets prospects:

Mets Offensive Prospects

Cecchini was back at shortstop after a game at second over the weekend. In the field, he had an errorless game, which is notable considering his defensive struggles. He’s hitting .333 with with four RBI and three walks in four games.

At the plate, he knocked in the Scorpions first run with a first inning sacrifice fly. In the fourth, he got the rally started with a lead off double.

Tebow has yet to get a hit in 14 Arizona Fall League at-bats.

Mets Pitching Prospects

Oswalt had s much better start in his second Arizona Fall League start, but it still wasn’t a great start. The Solar Sox jumped all over him in the first before Oswalt settled down. After the tough first, Oswalt allowed just one hit before leaving the game after throwing 65 pitches.

Taylor  was only one of two Scorpions’ pitchers not to allow a base runner on the night. He has now allowed just one run in 4.2 innings with zero walks issued and three strikeouts.
