MMN‘s Jacob Resnick reports right-handed reliever Ryley Gilliam has been promoted to Double-A Binghamton. Gilliam earned this promotion after having a 2.53 ERA, 0.938 WHIP, 1.7 BB/9, and a 13.5 K/9 in seven appearances for St. Lucie.

A promotion this early for Gilliam should not be much of a surprise. Aside from his dominating stint for St. Lucie, many, including Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline, believed Gilliam was a reliever who could be fast tracked to the majors due to his fastball-curveball combination and ability to get batters out.

Taking Gilliam’s spot on the St. Lucie roster is reliever Max Kuhns. Aside from a rehab stint last July for Gulf Coast, Kuhns has not pitched since 2017 due to his needing Tommy John surgery. Before his injury, he was 1-0 with five saves, a 2.10 ERA, 0.896 WHIP, 3.5 BB/9, and a 13.0 K/9 in 17 appearances for Columbia.
