The third game of the six-game series between the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Augusta GeeenJackets, was played in front of 2,438 fans Friday evening at Grayson Stadium.  Augusta outhit Savannah 12-7, and won the game 5-1.

Augusta scored their first run of the game in the second inning, when Ty Ross singled and was driven in by a John Polonius double.  They would add three more runs in the sixth inning after Savannah starter Alex Panteliodis loaded up the bases, gaving up three straight singles.  Panteliodis was lifted in favor of relief pitcher Darwin Frias, who started out strong by striking out the first batter he faced.  After that though, he would allow three straight walks which would plate all three GreenJacket runs.

The GreenJackets would score their final run in the seventh inning on Tyler Horan‘s seventh home run of the season.  It was his second in his last three games.

Savannah’s only run would come in the fourth inning on Jon Leroux‘s first home run of the season.
