Binghamton Mets right handed pitcher Greg Peavey, has been selected as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of May 5th-May 11th.
Peavey, 25, started one game last week against New Hampshire Fischer Cats earned the victory with his first career nine-inning complete game shutout in Binghamton’s 6-0 victory. The right hander retired the first 11 batters he faced while giving up just a pair of singles, striking out six, and not allowing a run nor a walk.
He is tied for the weekly league lead with a 0.00 ERA, second with a 0.22 WHIP (0.22) and fourth in .069 batting average against. On the season , Peavey is 2-1, with 25 strikeouts and a 3.16 ERA in five starts.
