The B-Mets used the long ball with Brian Burgamy blasting a three run shot in the top of the third and Cory Vaughn his first round tripper of the season, a two run blast in the eight to support Greg Peavey’s complete game two hit shutout in the B-Mets 6-0 win.

But watch out Binghamton Met baseball fans, because all signs indicate that Jayce Boyd is busting out of his season opening slump.  After going 4-for-4 with two doubles on Tuesday night in New Hampshire, Boyd continued to rake going 2-for-3 on Wednesday to raise his average to .230.

Xorge Carrillo also continues to shine every time Pedro Lopez inks his name in the lineup as the B-Met catcher.  Carrillo went 2-for-3 with a walk and scored a run, raising his batting average to .375 on the season.

The B-Mets (15-14) return home to face Harrisburg Thursday night.
