Columbia Fireflies right-handed starter Harol Gonzalez has been promoted to St. Lucie, and he is slated to start tonight’s game against the Clearwater Threshers at 7:00 P.M.
Gonzalez has made 20 starts for the Fireflies going 9-8 with three complete games, 3.56 ERA, 1.266 WHIP, and a 6.5 K/9. While Gonzalez had a rough start to the season, he has been dominant of late. Over his last six starts, he is 4-2 with a 1.71 ERA, 0.905 WHIP, and a 6.9 K/9. Over this stretch, Gonzalez has been reminiscent of the pitcher who had a breakout year last year for the Brooklyn Cyclones in the New York Penn League.
Gonzalez was recently ranked by MMN as the Mets 31st ranked prospect.
Congrats Harol. Keep it up.
