Today marks exactly one year since Mets’ second-round draft pick J.T. Ginn had Tommy John surgery, and he’s proving to be coming back strong. Ginn, 21, threw a bullpen session on Tuesday morning in Port St. Lucie and is already throwing over 90 mph.

Per Tim Healey of Newsday, Mets’ director of player development Kevin Howard spoke on Ginn’s performance.

“He’s already over 90 mph, which is incredible considering he was probably 70 percent in terms of his effort,” Howard said. “He’s on schedule or ahead of schedule. And everything is great.”

Ginn was added to the Mets’ spring training roster and is already making a case for himself early.
