It appears that Jenrry Mejia‘s rehab will continue on to Double-A with the Binghamton Mets this weekend…

A big thanks to Lynn Worthy for keeping us in the know. Mejia was diagnosed with forearm tendonitis in spring training, and was put on the disabled list. When New York signed Rick Ankiel, the right-hander was transferred to the 60-day disabled list to make room on the 40-man roster.

Mejia has made four appearances in his latest trek through rehab, two each in GCL and the FSL. In the GCL, he allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits, two walks, and three strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched. Upon moving on to High-A St. Lucie, Mejia increased his workload, accumulating eight innings of work. He allowed four runs on 10 hits, four walks, and 14 RBIs during that time.

Scott Atchison, who is rehabbing a groin injury in his latest stint on the disabled list, is expected to re-join the Mets after the MLB All-Star break. In 19 games with New York (18 innings pitched), he’s 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and six strikeouts.
