New York Mets left-handed reliever Josh Edgin has cleared waivers after the team designated him for assignment on July 30th, and the team has outrighted him to Tripe-A Las Vegas.  Edgin was designated for assignment to help create room for newly obtained AJ Ramos on the major league roster.

Edgin made 46 appearances for the Mets this season going 0-1 with one save, a 3.65 ERA, 1.541 WHIP, and a 6.6 K/9.  One of the reasons he was designated for assignment was left-handed hitters hitting .280/.372/.400 with two homers against him this season.

Edgin is now off the Mets 40 man roster meaning if the team wanted to call him up again at any point this season, the team will have to make a roster move.
