The Javelinas immediately found themselves in a 5-0 hole in the first inning, and, although they were able to claw back to within two runs in the sixth inning, that deficit would prove insurmountable.  Box Score

Three Mets hitters made an appearance in Saturday’s game:

Kendall recorded the first hit of the game for the Javelinas, singling on an 88.2 MPH line drive to left field in the first inning. Besides that lone single, the three Mets prospects would go hitless for the remainder of the game. Ritter, however, did contribute by hitting a long, 377-foot sacrifice fly that made the score 8-6 and came just shy of tying the game.

One Mets pitcher appeared in Saturday’s game:

In a game where most pitchers struggled, Walker’s scoreless appearance was certainly a welcome sight. Walker pitched a relatively uneventful fifth and sixth innings, keeping the Javelinas momentarily in the game.

Walker averaged 93.3 MPH on his fastball and topped out at 95 MPH. Although no batters whiffed at the fastball, he did get whiffs on three out of four swings with his slider.

With this loss, the Javelinas are now 7-5 for the season and 3-5 since their four-game winning streak to start the season. They will play the Scottsdale Scorpions again in their next game on Monday at 3:35 ET.
