The Glendale Desert Dogs just won their third game in a row, bringing their record to 5-10 in the 2023 Arizona Fall League. New York Mets prospects JT Schwartz, Kevin Parada, D’Andre Smith, Rowdey Jordan, and Nolan Clenney all played in the Desert Dogs’ 6-2 win on Thursday.

The 23-year-old JT Schwartz had another great day at the plate after homering on Tuesday, hitting an RBI double in the sixth inning and blasting a two-run homer in the eighth. Rowdey Jordan notched another hit, and Nolan Clenney allowed an unearned run in his inning of work.

  • DH JT Schwartz – 3-for-4, R, HR (2), 3 RBI, .324/ .378/.559
  • 2B D’Andre Smith – 0-for-4, 2 K, .143/.226/.143
  • 3B Rowdey Jordan – 1-for-4, R, K, .229/.307/.371
  • C Kevin Parada – 0-for-4, K, .176/.200/.294

Kevin Parada continues to struggle in the AFL, as he’s now struck out 13 times in 34 at-bats and walked only once.

  • RHP Nolan Clenney – 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R (unearned), 0 BB, 2 K, 0.00 ERA

Nolan Clenney pitched another solid game, keeping his ERA at 0.00, his only blemish being an unearned run allowed when right fielder Damon Keith made an error, allowing Cubs prospect James Triantos to score on a triple. On the season, Clenney has pitched four scoreless innings, striking out five and only walking two while allowing one hit.

The Desert Dogs take the field again Thursday at 6:30 p.m. against the Salt River Rafters.
