The Glendale Desert Dogs have doubled their season win total with back-to-back wins, bringing them to 4-10 to start the 2023 Arizona Fall League. New York Mets prospects JT Schwartz, D’Andre Smith, Tyler Thomas, and Trey McLoughlin played key roles in Tuesday’s Desert Dogs 7-6 extra-inning win.

The 23-year-old Schwartz hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning to give the Desert Dogs a 2-1 lead and Smith had two base hits. Thomas tossed 1 1/3 perfect innings of relief and McLoughlin got the last two outs to pick up the save.

  • 1B JT Schwartz 1-for-5, HR (1), 2 RBI, .267/.333/.400
  • 2B D’Andre Smith 2-for-4, .167/.259/.167

Mets catching prospect Kevin Parada got the night off.

  • RHP Trey McLoughlin 0.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K, Save, 0.00 ERA

McLoughlin allowed one inherited runner to score on a sac fly, but got Mariners prospect Tyler Locklear to fly out to end the game with runners on second and third. McLoughlin has 4 2/3 scoreless innings in AFL action this year.

The Desert Dogs are back in action on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. ET against the Mesa Solar Sox.
