The Glendale Desert Dogs have doubled their season win total with back-to-back wins, bringing them to 4-10 to start the 2023 Arizona Fall League. New York Mets prospects JT Schwartz, D’Andre Smith, Tyler Thomas, and Trey McLoughlin played key roles in Tuesday’s Desert Dogs 7-6 extra-inning win.
The 23-year-old Schwartz hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning to give the Desert Dogs a 2-1 lead and Smith had two base hits. Thomas tossed 1 1/3 perfect innings of relief and McLoughlin got the last two outs to pick up the save.

McLoughlin allowed one inherited runner to score on a sac fly, but got Mariners prospect Tyler Locklear to fly out to end the game with runners on second and third. McLoughlin has 4 2/3 scoreless innings in AFL action this year.
The Desert Dogs are back in action on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. ET against the Mesa Solar Sox.
