The Florida State League  has announced that St. Lucie Mets first baseman/outfielder Kevin Taylor is the Player of the Week. Taylor was signed by the Mets on February the 16th, 2016 as a minor league free agent. Before this season Taylor last played in a MLB organization with the Dodgers in 2013.

Taylor went 13 for 31 last week, collecting two homeruns, two doubles, while driving in eleven runs. Taylor also scored seven runs.

Taylor is hitting the ball really well over the last ten games. In those ten games he has hit .452, while having eight multi-hit games and nine games with at least a hit.

For the season Taylor has hit .309/.393/.470. He is fourth in the FSL with his .309 average and second in the league with his .393 on base percentage.

The 24-year old lefty hitter leads the team with seven homeruns and 34 RBIs. Taylor has been great on the road with a .340 road average. All the games the St. Lucie Mets played last week were on the road which reflects to his good road numbers.

Taylor is the second St. Lucie player to earn player or pitcher of the week honors. Ricky Knapp was named pitcher of the week on May the 23th.
