The big league team has a long list of free agents with multiple key pieces from their 2024 run, and they also have a significant group of minor league free agents that includes several former Top 30 prospects.
Here’s a breakdown of the Mets’ minor league free agents this offseason. The list was provided by Baseball America.
Pitchers
- RHP Robert Colina – The 23-year-old missed the entire 2024 season due to injury. He has a 3.86 ERA over 273 innings in the Mets farm system.
- RHP Kyle Crick – The former Pirates reliever was expected to have a chance to make the Opening Day roster before he was hit with an injury. The injury knocked him out most of the season, though he finished with a 1.71 ERA in 10 1/3 innings with three different Mets affiliates to finish the year.
- RHP Carlos Guzman – The reliever posted a 3.88 ERA in 48 2/3 innings between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse.
- RHP Justin Jarvis – The right-hander who was acquired by the Mets in 2023 for Mark Canha. The 24-year-old had a 4.55 ERA in 87 innings between Double-A and Triple-A as both a starter and reliever.
- RHP Brian Metoyer – The 27-year-old hasn’t pitched in two years. He does have 144 strikeouts in 84 1/3 innings.
- RHP Alan Perdomo – The minor league Rule 5 Draft pick pitched to a 3.76 ERA between Low-A St. Lucie and High-A Brooklyn.
- RHP Wilkin Ramos – The 24-year-old is one of the top players on the list, and he will likely pitch in the big leagues in the near future. The reliever had a 3.00 ERA and allowed only one run in 51 innings this year between Double-A and Triple-A.
- RHP Cam Robinson – A minor league signing who missed part of the season with an injury. When he returned, he had a 3.20 ERA in 28 relief appearances for Double-A.
- RHP Junior Santos – The Mets finally switched the big guy to the bullpen. However, the results were mostly the same, with a 4.99 ERA compared to his 4.71 career ERA.
- RHP Andre Scrubb – One of the only players on the list with MLB experience, missed a large portion of the season with an injury. He had a 4.15 ERA in 13 innings.
- RHP Jordany Ventura – The former starter and former top-30 prospect pitched almost exclusively out of the bullpen this season. The 24-year-old had a 2.96 ERA and 55 strikeouts over 48 2/3 innings between three stops in 2024.
I would imagine Ramos and Ventura are two of the top arms the Mets would look to bring back. They know more about Metoyer’s health than any other team, and he was opening some eyes as a potential big league bullpen arm before his injury, so they may look to bring him back.
Catchers
- Austin Allen – The minor league veteran had eight home runs in 46 games for Triple-A Syracuse.
- Logan Porter – He was very briefly on the Mets’ 40-man roster this year and has already signed a minor league deal with the Giants.

Infielders
- Yolmer Sánchez – The former Gold Glover played SS, 3B, 2B, LF, CF and even pitched in six games this season for Syracuse.
- Mike Brosseau – The former Brewer and Ray had 15 home runs in 93 games for Syracuse.
- Jeremiah Jackson – The 24-year-old showed off his power with 19 doubles and 19 home runs, but also struck out 123 times in 121 games for Binghamton this season. The Mets acquired the versatile fielder from the Angels for RHP Dominic Leone in 2023.
- Jose Peroza – The long-time Mets farmhand was limited to 24 games this season due to injury.
- Mateo Gil – The 24-year-old played SS, 2B, 1B and 3B this year.
- Jaylen Palmer – The New York native had a career-high 34 extra-base hits this year (22 2B, 12 HR), though he did strike out 129 times in 87 games.
Outfielders
- Stanley Consuegra – Former top 30 Mets prospects who arguably had the Mets power in their system over the last couple of seasons outside of Ryan Clifford. He also has one of the best outfield arms in the minors, with 43 assists in 279 games.
- Carlos Cortes – The former third-round pick of the Mets finished the 2024 season strong with 15 home runs and 41 RBIs in his last 65 games with Triple-A Syracuse.
- DJ Stewart – The 30-year-old had a .622 OPS in 74 big league games for the Mets this year.
Jackson is the type of versatile player teams will continue to give looks to. He combines that with a little bit of power and speed, too. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Mets bring him back.
