The Tigres del Licey defeated the Leones del Escogido by a sc0re 0f 8-0 on Sunday evening. Although he was not at the center of the action in this game, Ronny Mauricio still reached base twice as he continued his excellent winter league season. Box Score

After grounding out to the middle infield in each of his first two at bats of the game, Mauricio singled with two outs and a runner on first when he came up to bat in the fourth inning. Attempting to get two runners in scoring position, he tried to steal second base on the next pitch but was caught stealing. It was his first caught stealing of the winter league season; he had previously stolen five bases without being caught.

Mauricio struck out on three pitches to end the sixth inning and then walked on a full count to load the bases in the eighth inning. In the field, Mauricio had six assists, including turning one double play, without an error.

Mauricio has cooled off just a bit over the last week, but he still ranks second in the league in OPS (min. 10 games played) and leads the league in hits, doubles, runs batted in, steals, and slugging percentage (min. 10 games played).
