Another week gone means another week Mets prospects had to showcase their talent in Arizona Fall League play. Three weeks into the season, the Glendale Desert Dogs, the Mets’ affiliate in the AFL, have improved to an 8-10 record. They no longer stand in last place and are riding a six-game winning streak.

Below is a look into how the Mets’ prospects have fared at the halfway mark in the fall season.

Offensive Prospects:

  •  Kevin Parada: The 2022 first-round draft pick squeezed in four appearances this week. He’s hitting .214/.267/.429 at the halfway point. In his 77 innings behind the plate, he’s allowed 21 stolen bases and thrown out two runners while committing one error.
  •  Rowdey Jordan: The outfielder has spent most of his time in right field and has 11 hits, six of them doubles.
  •  JT Schwartz: The first baseman had a massive week in Arizona, dethroning Colson Montgomery as the team batting average leader. He’s hitting .349/.383/.628 on the season with two home runs, 12 RBIs and six doubles.
  •  D’Andre Smith: Smith’s fall league struggles continued into the week. He picked up three more hits and five more strikeouts in four games.

Pitching Prospects:

  •  Trey McLoughlin: Through 5 2/3 innings pitched, McLoughlin’s scoreless streak continued into the week. He’s notched one save on the season and has only allowed three hits.
  •  Brendan Hardy: The right-handed pitcher appeared for only two outs this week, not allowing a run.
  •  Nolan Clenney: Like McLoughlin, Clenney has yet to allow an earned run through five innings of work.
  •  Tyler Thomas: Thomas leads all Mets prospects with ten strikeouts through 6 1/3 innings.
  •  Jordan Geber: In his start this past week, Geber allowed four hits, three runs and four strikeouts. Geber and Dodgers prospect Kendall Williams lead the team with four home runs allowed.

With three more weeks to play in the season, the Desert Dogs remain on the path to victory. Their six-game winning streak was a morale booster, and the Mets’ prospects contributed profoundly to those victories. The Glendale team continues the season tonight against the Scottsdale Scorpions in Scottsdale.
