
When the Mets farm teams open the 2014 season they will have some of their top arms throwing in their games.
Rafael Montero will start for Las Vegas, Darin Gorski for Binghamton, Gabriel Ynoa at St. Lucie and Robert Gsellman with Savannah.
Montero, 23, played last season with Vegas and was 5-4, with a 3.05 ERA, with 78 strike outs in 88.2 innings.
Gorski, 26, who also played last season with Binghamton and Vegas, was a combined 7-2, with a 2.53 ERA, with 74 strikeouts in 92.1 innings and Thursday will mark the first time he will be the opening day starter in his professional career.
Ynoa, 20, was on Savannah’s 2013 championship roster and was 15-4, with a 2.72 ERA, and 106 strikeouts in 135.2 innings.
Gsellman, 20, who split time between Brooklyn Cyclones, Savannah and St. Lucie in 2013 and was a combined 6-6, with a 2.58 ERA, with 83 strikeouts in 108 innings.
Noah Syndergaard should be making his 2014 start on Friday with the 51’s at Cashman Field.
