Mets Full Season Coaching Staffs Set

While the big league club is going through their second manager search of the offseason, all of the Mets full season have announced their staffs.

As you will see there’s been significant turnover at the manager position with three of the four full season affiliates getting new leaders.

Triple-A Syracuse Mets

Manager: Brian Schneider – The former Met returns to the organization. He spent the previous four seasons on the Marlins big league staff as a catching coach.

Pitching Coach: D.J. Carrasco – Another former Mets player returns. He spent time as an advanced scout for the Dodgers and most recently was a pitching coach in Australia.

Hitting Coach: Joel Chimelis – Returns for his third season at the Triple-A level for the Mets.

Bench Coach: Rich Donnelly – The long-time coach was the Kingsport Mets manager in 2019. He was the third base coach for the 1997 World Champion Marlins.

Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies

Manager: Lorenzo Bundy – Former big league coach with the Dodgers and D-Backs has spent the last two years managing in Mexico.

Pitching Coach: Jonathan Hurst – Former major league pitcher returns for his second season with the Rumble Ponies and 15th with the Mets as a pitching coach.

Hitting Coach: Tony Jaramillo – Comes back for his second season as Binghamtom hitting coach. Former big league infielder has also coached at the major league level.

Bench Coach: Luis Rivera – Rejoins Binghamton after being their hitting coach in 2014. He spent the 2019 season as the Columbia Fireflies hitting coach.

Advanced-A St. Lucie Mets

Manager: Chad Kreuter – The former big league catcher returns for a team record fourth straight season as the manager.

Pitching Coach: Royce Ring – Former Mets pitcher will be in Port St. Lucie for the first time. He’s been a pitching coach in the Mets system since 2014 and spent 2019 with the Fireflies.

Hitting Coach: Bruce Fields – Former big leaguer returns for his second straight season with St. Lucie. He was the Cleveland Indians hitting coach in 2011 and 2012.

Bench Coach: Endy Chavez – Mets legend becomes the first bench coach in St. Lucie Mets history. He spent the 2019 as a coach on the Brooklyn Cyclones staff.

Class A Columbia Fireflies

Manager: Reid Brignac – The former big league infielder gets his first chance at coaching with Columbia.

Pitching Coach: Jerome Williams – Comes back for his second season in the Mets farm system after being the Kingsport Mets pitching coach in 2019. Right-hander pitched in 11 major league seasons.

Hitting Coach: Mariano Duncan – Completes the coaching trifecta of former major league players. He’s in his second season with the Mets organization, he was the hitting coach for Kingsport in 2019.

Bench Coach: Jay Pecci – Rounds out a completely new coaching staff for Columbia. He enters his second season with the Mets after holding the same role in 2019 with the GCL Mets. He was a teammate of Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen at Stanford.
