Let’s get you caught up on all the recent news about the New York Mets related to the minor leagues, including multiple signings and notable hires.
Will Sammon of The Athletic reports that the Mets have hired Laiky Uribe as their assistant director of international scouting. Uribe has worked for the Dodgers for the last eight years, including the last as their international crosschecker. The Bronx native played college baseball at Odessa College.
It was recently reported the Mets hired James Kang to be their director of international scouting. Kang worked for the Guardians, Dodgers, Padres and Red Sox. Most recently, he was a senior players acquisition scout with the Guardians. The former player spent three seasons in the Red Sox farm system as an infielder after being drafted in the 45th round of the 2010 draft.
Laiky and Kang worked together for multiple years in the Dodgers organization.
