As of 9:00am EST today, here are today’s Mets minor league starting pitchers:

Sacramento River Cats @ Las Vegas 51s, 8:05pm EST
TBD vs. Matt Fox (4-3, 4.79 ERA)
Sacramento River Cats @ Las Vegas 51s, immediately after
TBD vs. D.J. Mitchell (5-4, 7.52 ERA)
The 51s were supposed to play two games with the River Cats yesterday, but wind postponed the second game until tonight. Matt Fox is expected to take the hill, and is coming off his first win since June 30th. He allowed four runs (two earned) on nine hits, two walks, and three strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched against Reno on July 24th. In his last 15.1 innings pitched (three starts), Fox has allowed 27 hits and six walks, which has led to 14 runs being scored, with 12 being earned.
Mitchell will only be starting his third game since June 22nd tonight against Sacramento, as his uneven performances in the starting rotation have landed him a spot in the Las Vegas bullpen. His last three appearances as a reliever have gone very well; the right-hander has tallied 5.2 innings, two earned runs, eight hits, no walks, and six strikeouts. His 7.84 ERA in 10.1 innings of relief are deceiving; outside of an awful appearance on July 1st against Fresno (six earned runs and six hits allowed in one inning pitched), he’s been reasonably effective.
OFF
The B-Mets are off today, heading to Altoona to start a series with the Curve. Mark Cohoon is expected to take the mound for Binghamton.
Tampa Yankees @ St. Lucie Mets, 6:30pm EST
TBD vs. Rainy Lara (4-2, 2.92 ERA)
After a slow start following his promotion to High-A, Lara has seen his ERA continue to drop, and his win-loss record improve. He won his second straight decision on July 23rd, against Dayton. The right-hander allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits, two walks, and three strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched. He hasn’t wowed people like he did in eight Sally League starts with the Sand Gnats (4-2, 1.42 ERA), but he’s still getting the job done.
Savannah Sand Gnats @ Asheville Tourists, 7:05pm EST
Jake Kuebler (2-6, 2.94 ERA) vs. TBD
After losing four straight starts, Kuebler earned a no decision on July 22nd against Delaware. The right-hander allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits, no walks, and four strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched. In 17 appearances this season, Kuebler has split time as both a starter (eight games) and reliever (nine games). He’s performed better as a starter, going 2-3 with a 2.79 ERA, .221 opponent batting average, 22 strikeouts, and seven walks in 38.2 innings pitched.
Hudson Valley Renegades @ Brooklyn Cyclones, 7:00pm EST
Christopher Kirsch (1-2, 3.54 ERA) vs. Carlos Valdez (0-2, 3.34 ERA)
Valdez has lost two of his last three starts, and will try to break into the win column for the first time this season. His last start came on July 22nd against Batavia, allowing two runs on five hits, two walks, and four strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched. While he’s lost both of his decisions at MCU Park this season, he’s performed better at home, compiling a 3.10 ERA and .241 opponent batting average.
Kingsport Mets @ Elizabethton Twins, 7:00pm EST
Martires Arias (0-4, 7.66 ERA) vs. TBD
Arias is also still searching for his first win of the season, and is coming off two straight no decisions. He last took the mound against Elizabethton on July 24th, allowing one run on five hits (one homer), three walks, and three strikeouts in five innings pitched. After not lasting five innings in his first three starts, Arias has been able to do so two of the last three times he’s taken the mound.
GCL Mets @ GCL Cardinals, 12:00pm EST
The Mets get back to the action against the Cardinals today, their first of two straight head-to-head match-ups. The probable starters haven’t been announced yet.
