As of 9:00am EST today, here are today’s Mets minor league starting pitchers:

las-vegas-51s

Las Vegas 51s @ Tucson Padres 10:05pm EST

Matt Fox (3-2, 4.68 ERA) vs. Ryan Kelly (1-1, 2.70 ERA)

PCL League Scoreboard

Fox put together his second straight solid start on June 30th against Tacoma, and it was his second win in three starts. He threw six shutout innings, scattering three hits and one walk, while striking out six. It was the first time he hasn’t allowed an earned run since joining the organization, while the hits allowed and strikeouts were both season-bests. Fox owns a 2-1 record during night games, but he’s racked up a 5.73 ERA and .336 opponent batting average in 33 innings pitched.

Binghamton Mets @ New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 7:05pm EST

Mark Cohoon (4-3, 4.81 ERA) vs. Deck McGuire (4-7, 5.52 ERA)

EAS League Scoreboard

Cohoon beat Trenton on June 29th for his first victory since he earned one two months ago, on May 5th. He allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits (one homer), one walk, and five strikeouts in five innings pitched. Since getting the hard-luck loss against New Britain on May 23rd when he allowed one run in eight innings of work, he hasn’t pitched more than five innings in a game in his last five starts. As a starter (10 appearances), Cohoon has a 4.53 ERA, and .296 opponent batting average.

Jupiter Hammerheads @ St. Lucie Mets, 6:30pm EST

Andrew Heaney (1-2, 1.56 ERA) vs. Matthew Bowman (4-1. 2.33 ERA)

FSL League Scoreboard

Bowman is coming off what could be considered his best overall start of the season in St. Lucie. He earned the no decision, but allowed only one run on two hits (one homer), two walks, and seven strikeouts in eight innings of work. The right-hander has been enjoying a stellar season, but he’s been a little more human when he’s pitching away from Tradition Field. In three road starts (18 innings pitched), he owns a 3.00 ERA, .254 opponent batting average, and has allowed 17 hits along with five walks to go with 17 strikeouts.

Savannah Sand Gnats @ Greeneville Drive, 7:05pm EST

Matt Koch (5-3, 4.18 ERA) vs. TBD

SAL League Scoreboard

Koch got rained out last night, but is coming off his longest start of the season (7.1 innings pitched). He didn’t get a decision despite shutting out Rome and allowing four hits, no walks, and five strikeouts. He’ll be taking the mound tonight for his 11th start of 2013, and he’s only walked two, while striking out 52, in 55 innings pitched. I’ll take that 26:1 K/BB ratio any day.

Brooklyn_Cyclones_(cap_insignia)

Brooklyn Cyclones @ Aberdeen Ironbirds, 7:05pm EST

Dario Alvarez (0-1, 6.00 ERA) vs. TBD

NYPL League Scoreboard

Alvarez takes the mound tonight with hopes of making it out of the fifth inning for the first time this season. His last start came on June 29th against Hudson Valley, where he allowed five runs on five hits, four walks, and five strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched. In nine innings pitched this season, he’s struck out 10 hitters, but has allowed 12 base runners (eight hits, four walks).
